How do I consign my horse?
-We have 2 options available for consignment. We offer early online consignment by clicking here. You may also bring your horse the day of the sale, starting at 9 a.m. There are many advantages to early consignment, and we recommend you take advantage of this feature.
Where is the sale barn located?
- We are located south of the 60 freeway at 14185 S. Euclid Ave., Ontario, California, 91762. We are just south of Edison Ave. For more info call (760) 240-4449. Click for Map & Directions
What time does the sale start?
- Our tack sale begins at 10:30 Our horse sale will never start before 3 PM, but always by 4. A bidders number is required to bid. First time bidders are required to give a $ 200.00 cash REFUNDABLE deposit to get a number. Regular bidders are required to put up a $ 50.00 cash REFUNDABLE deposit. Tack can be paid for with cash, credit card or ATM. Horses can only be paid for with cash or ATM. No credit cards will be accepted for horses. No checks will be accepted without pre-approval from the management. Horses are to be paid for and removed as soon as the sale is over.
How often is the horse auction?
- We have a sale every month on the first Saturday of each month. Dates as follows- May 1st-June 5th-July 3rd-August 7th-September 4th-October 2nd-November 6th-December 4th.
What are the Selling Commissions?
-Tack All tack or western related items are a 25% commission with a $ 3.00 pass out fee. Saddles are a 15% commission or a $15.00 min. which ever is greater. Saddles are a $15.00 pass out. Any non- related western or tack items( such as the kitchen sink) is a 50% commission.
- Horses, Mules and Ponies will be charged a $55.00 consignment fee, whether your horse sells or not.
- Horses, Mules and Ponies will be charged a 10% commission.
- Mare and Foals will be counted as one, unless two drafts are done.
How much will my horse bring?
- There is no way to predict how much your horse will bring. An auction is one of the last open market entities left. The price of your horse is dependent on how much two people are willing to pay for your specific horse.
I heard people buy horses for slaughter at auctions and I am nervous about bringing my horse.
- Buying horses for slaughter is ILLEGAL and therefore should not be something you worry about . On the same note, if a horse comes to our sale neglected or badly injured, we will NOT accept them. All horses are accepted at the discretion of Euclid Stockyards employees.
